This MOU focuses on the use of potential applications of digital technology to drive the development of Wangchan Valley, especially in the "7 Domains of Smart City Thailand," namely Smart Environment, Smart Energy, Smart Economy, Smart Living, Smart Mobility, Smart People, and Smart Governance.

Located in Rayong Province in the eastern part of Thailand, Wangchan Valley is the hub of tech industry with its 3,500-rai hub of the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi) that is being groomed to be at the forefront of Thailand 4.0. Wangchan Valley targets 12 S-curve industries.
Also, the emphasis of the MOU is on the City Data Platform (CDP), which is a key feature of a smart city -- the brain of the city -- that makes use of data to optimize the services for the wellbeing of the citizens. As the strategic player in the national development plan of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), Wangchan Valley will thrive as a model city that builds on research and development (R&D) on innovation. The three areas of development include learning space, R&D enclave and the recreational area, which depa and PTT are excited to "join forces" to create.
